SHELTER™
Serie : Take shelter…
A field crop shelter suited
to market gardening produce traditionally cultivated in open fields. Shelter is a new product for
a market that is bubbling with activity.

A great many things have changed in the world
of market gardening, especially through the influence of the major
retail chains, which make a point of offering consumers products
of quality in terms of grade, appearance or colour and, of course,
all year round. Now is the age of regularity: lettuce, tomatoes
and cucumbers no longer have a season. The arrival of fresh prepared
food on supermarket shelves merely heightens the trend, all the
more so when it benefits from rather sophisticated marketing. In
any case, the market gardeners themselves no longer want to take
the risk of losing their crops in a few minutes; forget the bad
weather, from now on we’re growing our crops in safety.
This was the particularly demanding context in
which the specification of requirements for a new greenhouse took
shape:
• Firstly:
Achieve total coverage without land loss or border effect. In a
nutshell, 1 hectare of land equals 1 hectare of greenhouse.

• Secondly:
A product that is simple and inexpensive, yet endowed with great
agricultural qualities. SHELTER benefits from a good immediate volume
for improved climate control and better working conditions.
• Thirdly:
Quick and easy installation. The problem of assembly was taken into
consideration at the design stage, making SHELTER the fastest multi-span
product on the market.
• Technic :
- Effective ventilation thanks to vents on the
sides and the gables. Apart from the ridge, which is deliberately
designed without an opening, the greenhouse can be opened along
its entire periphery up to a height of 2.50 m. This offers a large
vertical surface area to ensure excellent air renewal.
From these basic principles, the new multi-span
shelter for open field market gardening was born. A highly efficient
tool at a purchase price equivalent to that of the TUNNEL, the SHELTER
is a real greenhouse for field crops and, better still, is perfectly
suited to the “reasoned agriculture” techniques that are
currently gaining ground. It constitutes a significant addition
to the range for a market gardening sector in the throes of major
change.
Moreover, it is no mere coincidence that
key players such as Ets Vinet equipped several hectares to serve
the 4th Bonduelle range almost as soon as SHELTER first left the
workshops!

It
benefits from DPS technology meshed to 3 metres. DPS is a complete
portal structure made up of a reinforced arch directly linked to
the posts by a one-piece post top. |
|
It
also has the benefit of Quick-Foundation™ anchoring with quick
telescopic assembly capabilities. Thanks to this technology, SHELTER
does away with the need to prepare the terrain, to use heavy earth-moving
equipment on the plots or lay concrete foundations. |

In
the single-wall film version, it has the advantage of reverse double-curved
tensioning technology, which ensures perfect spatial tensioning
of the film, thereby simplifying deployment. |
