Page 1 of 13 The ventilation and effects of the transmission of the light in cultures under plastic
Article published in the review Plasticulture n°124 - 2006
Based
on the new opportunities offered by the use of the simulation of the
movements of the air and the existing climate inside the greenhouses by
means of software called software of computational dynamics of the
fluids (DFC), a study was undertaken in order to improve the design of
the greenhouses and its equipment of ventilation.
Three principal fields were treated:
I) consequences of the installation of protections against the insects on the interior climate of the greenhouse,
II) the optimization of ventilation with the already existing systems of ventilation,
III) improvement of the ventilation of the greenhouse and its climate
by means of simple modifications of design such as the increase its
height or the transformation of the shape of its arc.
It was shown that the fact of protecting the openings from ventilation
while there placing anti-Bemisia nets divides by two the renewal rate
and the air velocity inside the greenhouse and, consequently, induced
at the same time a duplication of the water content of the air and rise
of the temperature in comparison with outside.
